3 Minute Chocolate Cake in a Cup!

I am having a birthday! A big one. This will be a week of much cake. But to kick off the celebrations, we have a simple, quick solution to dessert.
Here goes:
Find your biggest coffee cup, and add 4 Tbsp flour, 4 Tbsp sugar, 2 Tbsp cocoa.
Add 3 Tablespoons of milk, 3 Tablespoons of oil and an egg, and mix well.Add some chocolate chips, if you have some : )
Then microwave for 3 minutes on high...And create the swamp creature!
Let the cake set, then eat with coffee.Yum!
It's a bit dry, but it still tastes like cake : )
Edited to say: I didn't know where to credit this recipe - the photos are mine, but the recipe came in an email. Then I found this, and a couple other blogs that linked there. If deedee is not the original source, please let me know - I'd love to give credit where it's due!

This is absolutely brilliant.... I absolutely have to try this. Instant cake... whenever! And no leftovers!

PS Love the new look :)

Too dry and got hard as it cooled. I think less bake time might improve.
The chocolate chips settled in the bottom and were gooey. I wouldn't try this again. It came by email.

Put the chocolate chips in the dry mixture before adding wet ingredients--they won't settle to the bottom if you do this. yes, it is a little dry, but try adding a big blob of cream cheese when it's still warm.

Instead of adding chocolate chips, I added some chopped almonds and walnuts.
Delicious!

I thought that it tasted too eggy, so I use one egg for two batches and it's near perfect.

You get a much spongier light mixture that doesn't go as hard as it cools if you try this:

use self-raising flour instead of plain
don't put in an egg
use half the amount of oil

mix in milk until it is a relatively thin mixture and cook

I like it much better!
Oh, and using a thin-walled cup helps with the cooking too.

To make the cake much more spongy and light,
use self-raising flour
no egg
half the oil
and cook for about 30s less (depends on your microwave. it takes 2min 10 seconds in ours!)

I discovered this when craving cake but had no eggs in the house :-)

Awesome! It took me 2 minutes and it was REALLY nice. I added around half a teaspoon of baking powder and another egg (the mixture was too hard to mix) upon my mom's advice.. it did NOT get hard OR dry when it cooled.. here's a picture of it
